Resumen
El desarrollo efectivo de habilidades comunicativas requiere ciertas estrategias y ciertos principios de enseñanza. La construcción de una competencia especializada es un proceso que prepara a los estudiantes para las subsiguientes etapas en la educación. La educación superior debe responder a las continuas exigencias de la ciencia, la técnica y la producción, para ello se plantea la necesidad actual de proveer a nuestros estudiantes en el menor tiempo posible y de la forma más amplia del sistema de conocimientos, hábitos y habilidades necesarios para su futura labor profesional. El estudiante y el desempeño del maestro son aspectos importantes dentro del proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del inglés. Vencer la barrera idiomática es una condición previa para entender y proveer instrucción en un idioma extranjero. La investigación se desarrolla por la necesidad que existe en el 1er año la carrera Lengua Extranjeras de la Universidad de Guantánamo de que los estudiantes desarrollen habilidades de comunicación en idioma Inglés, aspectos que no se materializan en su totalidad. Para llevar a cabo el proceso de enseñanza-aprendizaje del idioma inglés es necesario desarrollar las habilidades comunicativas de los estudiantes que les permitan utilizar la lengua en su actividad de estudio en su desarrollo profesional. Tanto los estudiantes como los profesionales de la carrera se van a ver beneficiados con su correcta puesta en práctica; los estudiantes tendrán una herramienta más para adquirir información actualizada durante su formación curricular y durante la solución de problemas; los profesores tendrán otra vía para su auto perfeccionamiento y elevación de su excelencia profesional.

Abstract
The effective development of communicative skills requires certain strategies and principles of teaching. Building specialized competence is a process that prepares students for the subsequent stages in education. The High education should respond to the continuous demands of the science, the technique and the production, for all this it appeared the current necessity to provide our students in the smallest possible time and of the widest form in the system of knowledge, habits and necessary abilities for its future professional work. Student and teacher mobility are important aspects of education within the teaching-learning process of English. Overcoming the language barrier is a precondition for following and providing instruction in a foreign language. The research is developed by the necessity that exists in 1st year students of Foreign Languages´ major at Guantanamo’s University that the students develop communication skills in English language, aspects that are not totally materialized. To carry out the process of teaching-learning of English it is necessary to develop the talkative abilities of the students that allow them to use the language in their study activity in their professional development. As much the students as the professionals of the career will do beneficiaries with their correct setting in practice; the students will have a tool to acquire up-to-date information during their curricular formation and during the solution of problems once graduate; the professors will have another road for their own improvement and elevation of their professional excellence.
