RUTA DE EMERGENCIA EN EL ENFRENTAMIENTO A LA COVID-19 DESDE LA EXTENSION UNIVERSITARIA: CONSTRUCTOS Y EFECTOS DESDE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE ORIENTE

RESUMEN

En el año 2020 la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), declaró a la Covid-19 como una pandemia, lo que conllevó a que los estados y gobiernos de todas las naciones, adoptaran medidas para enfrentar y contener esta enfermedad. A partir de esa declaratoria, la labor extensionista en las universidades adquirió nuevas connotaciones y complejidades en función de las diferentes fases por las que transita la pandemia. El presente trabajo expone los constructos teóricos y metodológicos de la ruta de emergencia extensionista de la Universidad Oriente en el enfrentamiento a la pandemia, así como los factores potenciadores y sus principales resultados. Se sustenta la investigación en la metodología mixta, desde un enfoque dialéctico-materialista; con el empleo de diferentes métodos como el análisis-síntesis, inducción-deducción; así como el hermenéutico-dialéctico; consulta a especialistas, análisis documental y como procedimiento metodológico, la triangulación de fuentes y método. Como principales resultados se advierte la definición de las líneas de acción durante las fases de la pandemia, el encadenamiento efectivo con el tejido social y del empleo de la diversidad de fuentes de información y comunicación presentes en esos escenarios, el desarrollo de protocolos de actuación para cada multinivel de dirección inter e intrauniversitario.

EMERGENCY ROUTE IN FACING COVID-19 FROM THE UNIVERSITY EXTENSION: CONSTRUCTS AND EFFECTS FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF ORIENTE

SUMMARY

In 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared Covid-19 a pandemic, which led states and governments of all nations to adopt measures to confront and contain this disease. From this declaration, the labor extension worker in the universities acquired new connotations and complexities depending on the different phases through which the pandemic transits. This work presents the theoretical and methodological constructs of the extension emergency route of the Universidad Oriente in the confrontation with the pandemic, as well as the enhancing factors and their main results. The research is based on mixed methodology, from a dialectical-materialist approach; with the use of different methods such as analysis-synthesis, induction-deduction; as well as the hermeneutic-dialectic; consultation with specialists, documentary analysis and as a methodological procedure, the triangulation of sources and method. The main results are the definition of the lines of action during the phases of the pandemic, the effective linkage with the social fabric and the use of the diversity of sources of information and communication present in those scenarios, the development of action protocols for each multi-level inter- and intra-university management.
