COVID-19. EXPERIENCIAS EN LA EDUCACIÓN A DISTANCIA EN LAS CARRERAS DE PERIODISMO Y COMUNICACIÓN SOCIAL DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE HOLGUIN

RESUMEN

La educación a distancia o semipresencial fue la vía adoptada para el seguimiento del proceso de enseñanza aprendizaje en el mundo entero, ante la propagación del nuevo coronavirus SARS-COV-2. Cuba no estuvo exenta de la proliferación de COVID-19 en la población y, por tanto, adoptó medidas restrictivas para el aislamiento social. Todos los centros de enseñanza, incluyendo las universidades, cerraron sus puertas, pero mantuvieron su función educativa. El artículo presenta las experiencias del Departamento de Periodismo y Comunicación Social de la Universidad de Holguín en su etapa de educación a distancia o semipresencial por la pandemia. A partir de la aplicación de métodos científicos se sintetizan los resultados y su repercusión al regreso a las aulas y en la práctica profesional.

COVID-19. EXPERIENCES IN DISTANCE EDUCATION IN JOURNALISM AND SOCIAL COMMUNICATION CAREERS

ABSTRACT

Distance or blended education was the route adopted to monitor the teaching-learning process throughout the world, given the spread of the new SARS-COV-2 coronavirus. Cuba was not exempt from the proliferation of COVID-19 in the population and, therefore, adopted restrictive measures for social isolation. All educational centers, including universities, closed their doors, but maintained their educational function. The article presents the experiences of the Department of Journalism and Social Communication of the University of Holguín in its stage of distance or blended education due to the pandemic. From the application of scientific methods, the results are synthesized and their repercussion upon return to the classroom and in professional practice.
