Hirofumi Uzawa, 1928-
Economistul japonez Hirofumi Uzawa a fost declarat de catre imparatul tarii sale "tezaur national viu". Nascut la Tottori, s-a licentiat in economie si matematica la Universitatea din Tokyo.
Scrierile sale sunt de traditie walrasiana. Aportul sau cel mai cunoscut este modelul cresterii a doua sectoare pe care le-a propus in 1961 si care au fost inceputul unei investigatii intense a specialistilor in cresterea economica de-a lungul decadei anilor saizeci.
Astazi este profesor de economie la Universitatea CHUO, Profesor al Institutului de studii avansate al Universitatii Natiunilor Unite si profesor emerit al Universitatii din Tokyo.
