Resumo: O presente estudo surge a partir da observação de que existe um interesse do paciente estrangeiro por melhores relações custo-benefício em serviços médico-hospitalares e que o Brasil é visto como um destino para essa prática, intitulada “turismo de saúde”. A viabilidade do segmento no Brasil foi analisada à luz da teoria de stakeholders, tendo-se realizado uma pesquisa bibliográfica de caráter exploratório, com o objetivo geral de visualizar os grupos que influenciam e são influenciados pelo segmento. O objetivo específico foi estudar os brokers e os hospitais no intuito de verificar se há diferenças no interesse e comprometimento de cada um deles com o segmento e, assim, responder à pergunta: “O turismo de saúde é viável no Brasil?”. Mediante essa pesquisa verifica-se que há a necessidade de regulamentação, investimentos em infraestrutura e capacitação da mão-de-obra para que o segmento se desenvolva.

Abstract: The present study arises from the observation that there is an interest of the patient abroad for the best cost-benefit rates in medical and hospital services, Brazil is seen as a destination for this practice, called "medical tourism". The viability of the industry in Brazil was analyzed in the light of stakeholder theory, and it was performed a literature search and exploratory, with the overall objective to visualize the groups that influence and are influenced by the thread. The specific objective was to study the brokers and hospitals in order to check for differences in interest and commitment to each segment and thus answer the question: "The health tourism is feasible in Brazil?". Through this research it appears that there is a need for regulation, investment in infrastructure and training of manpower for the segment to develop.
