Resumo

A principal meta da pesquisa que originou este artigo foi investigar de que forma a gestão do voluntariado em megaeventos esportivos pode ampliar a cultura do voluntariado em Turismo, no Brasil, tendo em vista a ausência e/ou pouca representatividade desta ação no país. Outro objetivo foi o de traçar um perfil dos voluntários em eventos esportivos, visando proporcionar informações científicas que balizem a formatação de novas estratégias para estimular essa vital contribuição de capital humano nos acontecimentos especiais que a nação sediará na declarada década de ouro (2011 a 2020). Para tanto foi realizada uma revisão bibliográfica e documental – abordando contextualizações sobre eventos esportivos e trabalho voluntário - e uma pesquisa de campo com uma amostragem de voluntários do V Jogos Mundiais Militares, realizado de 16 a 24 de Julho de 2011, na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, considerado o terceiro maior evento esportivo.

Abstract

The main goal of the research that originated this article was to investigate how the volunteer management in sport mega-events can extend the culture of volunteerism in tourism in Brazi, in view of the absence or little representation of this action in the country. Another purpose was to draw a profile of volunteers at sporting events, aiming to provide scientific information that may benchmark the formatting of new strategies to stimulate the vital contribution of human capital in the special events that the host nation in declared golden decade ( 2011- 2020). For this the authors made  a literature review and documentary about sporting events and volunteer´s work  and a field survey with a sample of volunteers from V Military World Games held from 16 to 24 July 2011, in Rio de Janeiro, considered the third largest sporting event.
