Resumen
El objetivo del presente artículo se basa en el análisis de las técnicas de la adaptación cinematográfica de Tiempo de silencio de Luis Martín-Santos realizada por el director de cine español Vicente Aranda, esta tarea supone un reto en sí debido a la complejidad narrativa de dicha novela. La obra ofrece varias dificultades técnicas, por lo tanto, es considerada como un escrito técnicamente inadaptable por la cualidad del narrador indeterminado, el uso de tecnicismo, espejismos y un abanico infinito de intertextualidades, cada parodia o sátira se dirigen hacia alguna situación social o histórica, pero sobre todo la compleja psicología del personaje sanmartiniano. Estrenada en 1986, en los albores de la reciente democracia en el país ibérico, el director español nos lleva a los lejanos recuerdos de la España de la posguerra caracterizada por las agitaciones políticas, represiones, miseria social, pero sobre todo moral. Las teorías de la adaptación literaria ofrecen la posibilidad del estudio del cine mediante un sistema de visualización y el análisis de los signos, es una ciencia nacida de las teorías literarias para desenvolver aquellos mecanismos del séptimo arte tanto los directos como es la iluminación, el espacio, los encuadres o indirectos como el fuera de campo, y los sonidos ambientales entre otras herramientas que la tecnología del audiovisual del momento podía ofrecer. Tiempo de silencio de Martin-Santos y la adaptación cinematográfica de Vicente Aranda, coordinan entre literatura, cine y existencia en un principio poético-cinematográfico de la supervivencia humana en una circunstancia concreta de la historia española.

THE NOVELOF TIEMPO DE SILENCIO: A CINEMATIC CHALLENGE OF ADAPTATION
Abstract
The objective of this article is based on the analysis and understanding of the techniques of the film adaptation of Tiempo de Silencio by Luis Martín Santos and by the Spanish cinema director Vicente Aranda, this task is a challenge in itself due to the complexity narrative of said novel. The work offers several technical difficulties, therefore, it is considered as a technically unadaptable novel due to the quality of the indeterminate narrator, the use of technicality, mirages and infinite range of intertextualities, each parody or satire is directed towards some social or historical concrete situation, but above all the complex psychology of the sanmartiniano character. Released in 1986, at the dawn of recent democracy in the Iberian country, the Spanish director takes us to the distant memories of post-war Spain characterized by political upheavals, repressions, social but the most important the moral misery. The theories of literary adaptation offer the possibility of studying cinema through a visualization system and the analysis of signs, it is a science born from literary theories to develop those mechanisms of the seventh art, both direct ones such as lighting, space, the framing or indirect such as the out of field, and the environmental sounds among other tools that the audiovisual technology of the moment could offer. Tiempo de Silencio by Martín Santos and the film adaptation by Vicente Aranda, coordinate between literature, cinema and existence in a poetic-cinematographic principle of human survival in a specific circumstance of Spanish history.
