LAS MUJERES CIENTÍFICAS Y ACADÉMICAS: UN CAMINO CON MÚLTIPLES DESAFÍOS

Resumen

Las mujeres que se dedican al trabajo científico, académico y de toma de decisiones han decidido incursionar aún y cuando representa retos en el ámbito laboral, personal y social. En este artículo se reflexiona desde el sentido que tiene ser mujer y analizarla en toda su esencia. La pregunta principal es ¿cuáles son los obstáculos que enfrentan, las implicaciones que ha tenido en su vida y cómo ha negociado en los diferentes ámbitos para ingresar en el campo de la investigación científica, la académica y los puestos directivos? El objetivo de este trabajo es exponer los desafíos que día a día encaran las mujeres desde el punto de vista de ellas mismas, mostrando tanto el ámbito académico como el doméstico. Se parte de la premisa que el aspecto cultural influye en la cotidianidad de las féminas que se dedican a la vida académica. La metodología empleada fue de corte cualitativo, se entrevistaron a 12 mujeres que se dedican a la investigación y tiene reconocimiento nacional como investigadora en México, así como también aquellas que han ejercido puestos directivos; los aspectos analizados son: el contexto familiar, social y profesional de las investigadoras y la fortaleza que han mostrado a lo largo de su vida profesional. Los resultados muestran que los obstáculos que enfrentan son culturales, tanto de hombres como de mujeres, lo que influye en el aspecto familiar y social. Las estrategias que emplean son el diálogo, la negociación, y una red de apoyo para incursionar y permanecer en la investigación.

Abstract

Women who are dedicated to scientific, academic and decision-making work have decided to venture even when it represents many challenges in the work, personal and social spheres. This article reflects on the meaning of being a woman and analyzes it in all its essence. The main question is what are the obstacles they face, the implications it has had on their life and how they have negotiated in the different fields to enter the field of scientific research, academic and managerial positions? The objective of this work is to expose the challenges that women face every day from the point of view of themselves, showing both the academic and domestic spheres. It starts from the premise that the cultural aspect influences the daily life of the women who are dedicated to academic life. The methodology used was qualitative, interviewing 12 women who are dedicated to research and have national recognition in Mexico, as well as those who have held managerial positions; the aspects analyzed are: the family, social and professional context of the researchers and the strength they have shown throughout their professional lives. The results show that the obstacles they face are cultural, both men and women, which influences the family and social aspect. The strategies they use are dialogue, negotiation, and a support network to enter and remain in research.
