RESUMEN
En el país existen más de 2 millones de personas desempleadas, cerca de la mitad son jóvenes menores a 34 años. En los próximos años el mercado laboral va a requerir más de un millón de nuevos empleos anuales y difícilmente alguna institución privada o pública estará en posibilidad de crearlos, por ello, el emprendimiento aparece como una opción factible a este desequilibrio en el mercado laboral. El presente artículo busca identificar la relación entre desempleo y emprendimiento, bajo la preposición teórica de que cuanto más alto sea el desempleo en una economía, mayor será el número de emprendimientos.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND SELF-EMPLOYMENT AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO UNEMPLOYMENT IN YOUNG PROFESSIONALS
ABSTRACT
In the country there are more than 2 million unemployed people, about half are young people under 34 years of age. In the coming years the labor market will require more than a million new jobs per year and hardly any private or public institution will be able to create them, therefore, entrepreneurship appears as a feasible option to this imbalance in the labor market. This article seeks to identify the relationship between unemployment and entrepreneurship, under the theoretical preposition that the higher unemployment in an economy, the greater the number of entrepreneurs.
