RESUMEN
En el artículo se plantean las razones que explican la importancia del lenguaje oral y escrito en la formación universitaria. Se proponen consideraciones que pueden servir de base para su fortalecimiento, ya que la lectura, la escritura y expresión oral designan acciones concretas que ocurren en contextos de aprendizaje y con fines específicos. Está dirigido a quienes hacen de la lectura, la escritura y la palabra hablada un componente integral de su formación, el lenguaje —hablado y escrito— adquiere su significado en los intercambios comunicativos y en el conjunto de las prácticas académicas en las que profesores y estudiantes participan.

Abstract
The reasons that explain the importance of written and oral lenguaje in the training acadenic are propounded in the article . Some considerations are proposed and they can be used as the base for its strengthening, as reading, writing and oral expresson appoint actions that occur in the learning context and with specific goals. It is guided to those people that make of the reading, the writing and the spoken and written word an integral component of its trainig , the spoken and written language acquire its meaning in the communicative exchange and in the set of academical practices where the teacher and the students are involved.
