RESUMEN
La presente investigación es el resultado del abordaje de la temática en los tradicionales coloquios y eventos científicos divulgativos de la Historia de la localidad, promovidos por la directiva municipal de la Unión Nacional de Historiadores de Cuba y la Historiadora de la ciudad de San Cristóbal. Las tradiciones forman parte de la vida espiritual de los pueblos, son un reflejo de la cultura material e inmaterial que atesoran. Varían de una época a otra, aunque elementos esenciales puede que perduren en el tiempo. Algunos estudiosos afirman que no se rescatan, cuando por razones determinadas, declinan, sí pueden renacer, cuando un grupo humano se lo propone. Tal es el caso de las más ancestrales tradiciones de los habitantes del pueblo de San Cristóbal, (fundado en 1830); algunas hunden sus raíces en la segunda mitad del siglo XIX, declinaron y/o se fortalecieron en el XX y otras han ido echando sus raíces en los nuevos contextos del siglo XXI. El abordaje de la temática, ha permitido dimensionar el comportamiento de las más reconocidas tradiciones culturales, identificar aquellas que hunden sus raíces en el pasado fundacional, ligadas al origen de sus habitantes, composición étnica y espacio geográfico que habitaron (campos o el pueblo, y/o la ciudad, analizando, cuales han desaparecido con el paso del tiempo y las nuevas que se han ido arraigando a pesar de los nuevos hábitos y costumbres generados en la era de la digitalización y las comunicaciones.

THE CULTURAL TRADITIONS OF THE SANCRISTOBALENSES
RESUME
The present research is the result of the approach to the subject in the traditional colloquia and informative scientific events of the history of the town, promoted by the municipal directive of the National Union of Historians of Cuba and the Historian of the city of San Cristóbal.Traditions are part of the spiritual life of peoples, they are a reflection of the material and immaterial culture that they treasure.They vary from one era to another, although essential elements may last in time.Some scholars affirm that they are not rescued, when for certain reasons, they decline, they can be reborn, when a human group proposes it. Such is the case of the most ancient traditions of the inhabitants of the town of San Cristóbal, (founded in 1830); some have their roots in the second half of the 19th century, declined and / or strengthened in the 20th and others have been putting down their roots in the new contexts of the 21st century. The approach to the subject has allowed dimensioning the behavior of the most recognized cultural tradition, identify those that have their roots in the foundational past, linked to the origin of their inhabitants, ethnic composition and geographical space they inhabited (fields or the town, and / or the city, analyzing, which have disappeared with the passage of time and the new ones that have taken root despite the new habits and customs generated in the era of digitization and communications.
