RESUMEN

Los escasos estudios regionales, desde la perspectiva  sociocultural, que impriman el análisis de la cultura material y espiritual, limitan la comprensión del proceso de formación de la identidad regional. El estudio consiste en caracterizar las Regiones Históricas y Culturales en Cuba; categoría que supera la de región histórica, al valorar el proceso desde la Historia Social e incorporar la identidad cultural a este proceso. Asumiendo que las mismas son producto del devenir de una comunidad humana en la historia e integra dialécticamente el espacio geográfico, la economía, los procesos de integración étnica y la cultura material y espiritual, en un proceso de autoreconocimiento y diferenciación dentro del contexto cubano, que tiene su génesis en la fundación de las primeras villas coloniales y se continúa hasta la actualidad. El trabajo se  fundamenta en una revisión crítica de las fuentes, apoyado en los métodos teóricos como análisis y critica de las fuentes, que contribuyó a una valoración integral del proceso de formación de las Regiones Históricas y Culturales en Cuba.

NOTES FOR THE STUDY OF THE HISTORICAL AND CULTURAL REGIONS IN CUBA

ABSTRACT.

The few regional studies, from the sociocultural perspective, that print the analysis of the material and spiritual culture, limit the understanding of the process of formation of the regional identity. The study consists of characterizing the Historical and Cultural Regions in Cuba; category that exceeds that of historical region, by assessing the process from Social History and incorporating cultural identity into this process. Assuming that they are the product of the evolution of a human community in history and dialectically integrates the geographic space, the economy, the processes of ethnic integration and the material and spiritual culture, in a process of self-recognition and differentiation within the Cuban context, which It has its genesis in the foundation of the first colonial towns and continues to the present day. The work is based on a critical review of the sources, supported by theoretical methods such as analysis and criticism of the sources, which contributed to a comprehensive assessment of the process of formation of the Historical and Cultural Regions in Cuba.
