USOS Y ALCANCE DE LA VIDEOCONFERENCIA POR LA PLATAFORMA ZOOM CON FINES EDUCATIVOS

RESUMEN

El principal objetivo de este trabajo fue analizar el uso de la plataforma de videoconferencia Zoom como herramienta de educación no presencial en el contexto escolar ecuatoriano. El problema detectado fue que no hay un buen manejo de la plataforma Zoom en la comunidad Los Helechos de Portoviejo- Manabí-Ecuador, se trabajó con el enfoque metodológico cualitativo de estudio de casos. Participaron catorce familias que respondieron un cuestionario estructurado de nueve preguntas que combina preguntas abiertas y cerradas. Las respuestas se muestran en gráficos de frecuencias en los que se aprecia la valoración de padres sobre los tópicos investigados: a) conocimiento informático; b) acceso a conexión a internet satisfactorio; c) desarrollo de la videoconferencia; d) aprovechamiento de la actividad por videoconferencia por parte de los alumnos. El estudio concluyó que hay valoraciones negativas que deben tomarse en cuenta para mejorar el uso de la plataforma Zoom. Es fundamental la formación de padres y estudiantes en el manejo de las herramientas; se hace necesario contar con capacitaciones que garantice que las actividades por Zoom se desenvuelvan adecuadamente con la participación de los docentes y estudiantes.

USES AND SCOPE OF VIDEOCONFERENCING THROUGH THE Zoom PLATFORM FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES

ABSTRACT

The main objective of this work was to analyze the use of the Zoom videoconference platform as a remote education tool in the Ecuadorian school context. The problem detected was that there is not a good management of the Zoom platform in the Los Helechos de Portoviejo-Manabí-Ecuador community, we worked with the qualitative methodological approach of case studies. Fourteen families participated who answered a structured questionnaire of eleven questions that combines open and closed questions. The answers are shown in frequency graphs in which the assessment of parents on the topics investigated is appreciated: a) computer literacy; b) satisfactory internet access; c) development of videoconferencing; d) use of the activity by videoconference by the students. The study concluded that there are negative evaluations that should be taken into account to improve the use of the Zoom platform. The training of parents and students in the use of the tools is essential; it is necessary to have training that guarantees that Zoom activities are carried out properly with the participation of teachers and students.
