RESUMEN

El sector del turismo en Cuba cobra auge y una nueva orientación en la década de los años 90. Es un renglón que posee un comportamiento con un progreso creciente en los últimos años, por lo que se le otorga una posición estratégica para el desarrollo de la nación. Esta investigación tiene como objetivo principal realizar un inventario de los recursos patrimoniales presentes en el centro histórico de la ciudad de Cienfuegos. Se utilizan diferentes métodos de investigación dentro de los que destacan el método de trabajo de campo, el cartográfico y el documental. Se estudian las características geográficas de este territorio, además de las potencialidades turísticas que presenta el patrimonio, obteniendo como resultados un inventario de recursos patrimoniales que pueden ser utilizados para diversificar la oferta turística del territorio haciéndola más atractiva a los visitantes.

INVENTORY OF HERITAGE RESOURCES OF THE HISTORIC CENTER OF THE CITY OF CIENFUEGOS FOR TOURIST PURPOSES

ABSTRACT

The tourism sector in Cuba gained momentum and a new orientation in the 1990s. It is a line that has a behavior with an increasing progress in the last years, reason why it is granted a strategic position for the development of the nation. The main objective of this research is to carry out an inventory of the patrimonial resources present in the historic center of the city of Cienfuegos. Different research methods are used, among which the fieldwork, cartographic and documentary methods stand out. The geographical characteristics of this territory are studied, in addition to the tourist potentialities presented by the heritage, obtaining as results an inventory of patrimonial resources that can be used to diversify the tourist offer of the territory making it more attractive to visitors.
