EDUCACIÓN AMBIENTAL PARA PREVENCIÓN Y REDUCCIÓN DE RIESGOS POR DESASTRES NATURALES EN LA FORMACIÓN PROFESIONAL

RESUMEN

La prevención ante desastres naturales forma parte de la educación ambiental de la población, que implica el conocimiento de los fenómenos que los provocan y de las normas de comportamiento ante sus efectos, para garantizar la reducción de riesgos y de pérdidas humanas; entre los principales actores para lograr este fin en la comunidad se encuentra la universidad, que cuenta con las potencialidades para la formación científica de los estudiantes, quienes a su vez se convierten en divulgadores de lo aprendido y a la vez serán los futuros profesionales y cuadros del territorio responsabilizados con el desarrollo sostenible. Para alcanzar estos propósitos en la Universidad de Artemisa se ha trabajado en la preparación del personal docente del territorio, por lo que es objetivo de este trabajo: proponer el sistema de contenidos sobre desastres naturales y su prevención incluido en los programas de las asignaturas de la formación inicial de profesores y en la superación de posgrado para docentes de Geografía como contribución a su educación ambiental y la de sus estudiantes. Se emplearon como métodos investigativos: análisis documental, enfoque sistémico y modelación. Son resultados los programas elaborados de las asignaturas y de los cursos de postgrado en que se incluyen estos contenidos y un sistema de presentaciones electrónicas utilizadas como medio de enseñanza aprendizaje en las actividades docentes y en el estudio independiente de los participantes con información científica actualizada, sobre los peligros potenciales de desastres naturales para el país y la provincia de Artemisa en particular.

ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOR PREVENTION AND REDUCTION OF RISKS DUE TO NATURAL DISASTERS IN VOCATIONAL TRAINING

ABSTRACT

The prevention of natural disasters is part of the environmental education of the population, which implies knowledge of the phenomena that cause them and the norms of behavior in the face of their effects, to guarantee the reduction of risks and human losses; Among the main actors to achieve this end in the community is the university, which has the potential for the scientific training of students, who in turn become disseminators of what they have learned and at the same time will be future professionals and cadres of the territory responsible for sustainable development. To achieve these purposes, the University of Artemisa has worked on the preparation of the teaching staff of the territory, so the objective of this work is: to propose the content system on natural disasters and their prevention included in the programs of the subjects of the Initial teacher training and postgraduate training for Geography teachers as a contribution to their environmental education and that of their students. The following research methods were used: documentary analysis, systemic approach and modeling. The results are the programs developed for the subjects and postgraduate courses that include these contents and a system of electronic presentations used as a means of teaching-learning in teaching activities and in the independent study of the participants with updated scientific information, on the potential dangers of natural disasters for the country and the province of Artemisa in particular.
