LA BATALLA DE LOS IMPERIOS EN EL MAR CARIBE: ESPAÑA CONTRA INGLATERRA EN LA GUERRA DE INDEPENDENCIA DE LAS TRECE COLONIAS (1779-1783)

RESUMEN

El presente artículo, titulado “La Batalla de los Imperios en el Mar Caribe:  España contra Inglaterra en la Guerra de Independencia de las Trece Colonias (1779-1783)”,  aborda un periodo de la Historia Universal prácticamente ignorado en muchos textos, la participación de la monarquía española, sus fuerzas militares y navales, los lideres militares, combates navales y terrestres, así como otros datos de interés, que demuestran la importancia de la intervención de la nación europea en la contienda bélica  independentista de las Trece colonias Inglesas, hoy Estados Unidos. En el presente examen de los hechos ocurridos en la etapa 1779-1783 se  pretende analizar hechos económicos políticos y militares que apoyan teorías hoy en pleno uso de las fuerzas navales, militares e irregulares en un conflicto armado, utilizando para ello la consulta de documentos, relacionados con el tema, para aportar elementos de corte historiográfico, siempre atendiendo al análisis histórico - lógico de los acontecimientos, como método de investigación, lo cual nos llevaría a demostrar el papel relevante, e incluso, determinante en cierto grado, de las fuerzas españolas masificadas en la Isla de Cuba durante el conflicto guerrero, que como colofón final trajo consigo la Independencia de los Estados Unidos de Norteamérica

THE BATTLE OF THE EMPIRES IN THE CARIBBEAN SEA:  SPAIN AGAINST ENGLAND IN THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE IF THE THIRTEEN COLONIES (1779-1783).

ABSTRACT:  

This article, entitled "The Battle of the Empires in the Caribbean Sea: Spain against England in the War of Independence of the Thirteen Colonies (1779-1783)", addresses a period of Universal History practically ignored in many texts: participation of the Spanish monarchy, its military and naval forces, military leaders, naval and land combat, as well as other data of interest, which demonstrate the importance of the intervention of the European nation in the war for independence of the Thirteen English colonies, today USA. In the present examination of the events that occurred in stage 1779-1783, it is intended to analyze economic, political, and military events that support theories, today in full use of the naval, military and irregular forces in an armed conflict, using the consultation of documents, related to the subject, to provide elements of a historiographical nature, always attending to the historical-logical analysis of the events as a research method, which would lead us to demonstrate the relevant role, and even determining to a certain degree, the Spanish forces overcrowded on the Island of Cuba during the war conflict, which as a final culmination brought with it the Independence of the United States of North America
