LA IMPLEMENTACIÓN DE LA SUSTENTABILIDAD EN EL CURRÍCULUM UNIVERSITARIO DESDE LA PERSPECTIVA DE LA GESTIÓN

RESUMEN

La educación para el desarrollo sustentable (EDS) es entendida como un proceso educativo que comprende formar en los estudiantes, no sólo las competencias de un campo del conocimiento en particular, sino las competencias sustentables para actuar en favor de la solución a los problemas relacionados con la pobreza, la desigualdad, el desempleo y el deterioro del medio ambiente. Sin embargo, para lograr esto, las universidades mexicanas requieren hacer cambios en sus modelos educativo y académico a efecto de lograr una efectividad en el proceso de implementación de la perspectiva EDS en el currículo universitario. Este ensayo tiene como propósito disertar sobre las implicaciones que tiene para la gestión de las universidades, realizar transformaciones en los modelos educativo y académico en su intento por incorporar la perspectiva de la EDS en el currículum universitario. Mediante una revisión bibliográfica, se delinearon las categorías claves relacionadas con la gestión universitaria que permiten ofrecer mayor certidumbre en este proceso. Se concluye que un alto involucramiento del profesorado en el proceso de toma de decisiones es un aspecto crucial para lograr el cambio requerido.

THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SUSTAINABILITY IN THE UNIVERSITY CURRICULUM FROM THE MANAGEMENT PERSPECTIVE

ABSTRACT

Education for sustainable development (ESD) is understood as an educational process that includes training in students, not only the competencies of a particular field of knowledge but also the sustainable competencies to act in favor of the solution to problems related to poverty, inequality, unemployment and the deterioration of the environment. However, to achieve this, Mexican universities need to make changes in their educational and academic models to achieve effectiveness in the process of implementing the ESD perspective in the university curriculum. The purpose of this essay is to discuss the implications it has for the management of universities, to carry out transformations in the educational and academic models in its attempt to incorporate the perspective of ESD in the university curriculum. Through a bibliographic review, the key categories related to university management were delineated that allow greater certainty in this process. It is concluded that a high involvement of teachers in the decision-making process is a crucial aspect to achieve the required change.
