Oskar Morgenstern, 1902-1976
Nascut la Gorlitz, Silezia, studiaza la universitatile din Viena, Harvard
si New York. Membru al scolii austriace si matematician avizat participa la
cunoscutele "Colocvii de la Viena" organizate de Karl Menger (fiu al
lui Carl Menger) ce au pus in contact cercetatori din diferite discipline, din a
caror sinergie se stie ca a rezultat o multitudine de noi idei si inclusiv noi
campuri stiintifice.
Emigreaza in timpul celui de-al doilea razboi mondial in
Statele Unite, exercitandu-si docenta la Princeton.
Publica in 1944, impreuna cu John von Neuman,
"Theory of Games and
Economic Behavior".
