CONFORT HUMANO EN MICROCLIMAS URBANOS. CALLE MIGUEL HIDALDO, CIUDAD VALLES, SAN LUIS POTOSÍ, MÉXICO
RESUMEN PALABRAS CLAVE: ABSTRACT Ciudad Valles registers maximum temperatures of 140°F, and 78% of relative humidity, the main environmental stimuli that determine the people's thermal sensation. This document analyzes and identifies physical and physiological aspects of the urban context that contributes in particular to attenuate the climatic effects, determining how to improve the comfort level experienced by pedestrians in outdoor spaces. Significant differences in temperature are identified up to 80.6°F on sidewalks and 41°F air temperature originated by the time and the amount of solar radiation which are exposed due to the formal architecture of urban space. This comparison and difference of values for the same climatic variable in relation to the immediate context is called urban microclimate. This study is carried out in Miguel Hidalgo Street, Main Street of the downtown area. The present document is a part of the thesis named: " Diagnóstico del microambiente urbano en la avenida Miguel Hidalgo, en la zona centro de Ciudad Valles, San Luis Potosí, México.", from the Master's degree program in Planning, development and urban project; of the Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo from Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas.
