Lawrence R. Klein es un economista estadounidense que obtuvo el Premio Nobel de Economía en 1980 por la creación de modelos econométricos y la aplicación al análisis de las fluctuaciones económicas y políticas económicas.
Nacido en Omaha, Nebraska, estudió en la Universidad de California y se doctoró en el Massachussetts Institute of Technology. Ha sido docente en las Universidades de Michigan (1949-54), Oxford (1954-58) y en la de Pennsylvania. Trabajó para la Cowles Commission (1944-1947). Es especialista en econometría, estadística, ciclos económicos, comercio internacional e integración económica.
